Hello! I'm Maricruz Mora, a nutritionist and mom to little Joaquín. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Nutrition at the University of Costa Rica, and in 2021 I obtained my certification as a pediatric clinical nutritionist through the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP).

I have 9 years of experience at the National Children's Hospital, where I have provided nutritional care to pediatric patients from infants to adolescents, including children with chronic conditions and highly complex medical needs. Throughout my practice, I have worked with patients with congenital heart disease, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, liver disease, cerebral palsy, as well as children who require specialized nutritional support, including tube feeding, both in outpatient visits and during hospitalization.

In addition, I am a Diabetes Educator, a field in which I have worked for the past 6 years as part of the hospital's Diabetes Patient Care Program, a national reference center where children debuting with type 1 diabetes are treated. In 2024, I had the opportunity to complete a fellowship in the diabetes unit at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona—an experience that further strengthened my training in the comprehensive management of this condition in the pediatric population.

My goal is to support and guide families in the nutritional management of these medical conditions, providing practical and safe tools to optimize their children's nutritional status, while also fostering a positive relationship with food and the ability to enjoy meals throughout each process.
