Pediatric Surgeon
Dra. Cinthia Solórzano
Hello! It's a pleasure to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my journey as a Surgeon.
Since childhood, I dreamed of being a doctor. That's why I started my medical career at the University of Medical Sciences (UCIMED).
I completed one year of Social Service as a general practitioner in the Health Area of Cartago. In 2011, I had the pleasure of working in the surgery department of the National Children's Hospital. This was a great inspiration to continue with a postgraduate degree in Pediatric Surgery, which I started in 2014, for five years, at the University of Costa Rica, graduating with honors.
As a pediatric surgeon, I worked with communities in Alajuela, Limón, and San José.
Always eager to help the pediatric population and continue growing as a doctor, I started a subspecialty in Thoracic Surgery in 2021. I also graduated with honors in this postgraduate degree and became the first pediatric surgeon in the country with this title.
I completed an internship at Emma Children's Hospital in the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Updating surgical techniques and strengthening a great bond between this Hospital and our country.
Currently, I am the coordinator of the Thoracic Surgery Service at the National Children's Hospital.
With great effort and grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, I enjoy providing comprehensive care to children in the surgical area.
Dedication and commitment to our patients are the key to a brighter future.
