Hello! I'm Dr. Alberto Alfaro, since I was a child I had the great dream of being a doctor.

I graduated from the School of Medicine in 2014. In the last year of general medicine I felt the call to become an internist, with Internal Medicine being the specialty that I was passionate about and continues to be to this day. After completing 4 years of study in this specialty, I decided to continue my path through the exciting subspecialty of Clinical Immunology at the University of Costa Rica, for 2 more years. A very unexplored area, little developed in the country in the adult population, with few specialists with this training.

I am in charge of the specialized diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the defenses, such as: immunodeficiencies, autoinflammatory syndromes, recurrent fever, poly-autoimmune disease, autoimmune diseases resistant to treatment, frequent infections, among others.

I enjoy reading, instrumental and classical music, enjoying nature and a good coffee are my main hobbies.

I try to always keep in mind my personal motto in the care of my patients: passion to serve and vision to undertake.
